It's a cool place. Videogame selection was pretty limited and the prices were questionable but they had a lot of other cool stuff to check out. I plan to come through once in a while check out their horror collectables/movies.

Recently took my parents’ Philco E-1766 from the late 50’s to get back in working order and I have to say it was start to finish just a fantastic experience! Brian showed a great amount of care and pride in his work and I’m super happy with the restoration work. The process from deposit to repair to pickup was exactly as described. We’re so glad Brian was recommended to us and we found the gem that Retro Addicts is. We looked forward to stopping in Retro Addicts when we’re in York to check out the other cool stuff there and adding to our Atari 2600 game collection.

Just wanted to know some information on possibly getting something fixed. This guy loves to hear his own voice. 10 min speech on not plugging unit in. Said I wasn’t against redoing or if they had to make it newer with new stuff as I said that cut me off and said we don’t do that. I really didn’t want that I was saying if that’s what they do. So I’m sure they maybe good at what they do just can’t work with someone who can’t listen .

They restore stereos and have a huge collection of nostalgic, vintage collectibles (video games, comics, vhs, figures, etc). I was able to pick up some really cool stuff from my childhood. Brian and the staff were friendly and the store was really clean and organized!

It was actually hard to find somebody to restore a vintage piece. After several calls or e-mails to places went unanswered or the response was “no,” I got a prompt return call from Brian at Retro Addicts. He went over the process of what they do, lead times, and general estimated costs for most restorations. Very thorough in letting you know what you may be in for in doing one of these restorations. So I dropped the mid-70’s Sony STR-7055 stereo receiver I bought off the ‘bay to them in early 2024. Brian is knowledgeable and a meticulous restorer of vintage gear. The Sony was returned to me before Christmas 2024 with a bag full of the old replaced parts, modern LED lights inside, and smooth pure “solid state” sound. Nice extra touch cleaning the front faceplate, back connections and wood cover so it basically looks like it came out of the box in 1975. Three days now listening with 3 different pairs of speakers and the sound rivals or exceeds any of my modern equipment. Plus a beautiful vintage piece to display on my mantle. Yes, restoration is not cheap (from anywhere) and yes, it takes time, but also yes, with Retro Addicts, you 100% (110%) get what you pay for. Highly
